We continued our ocean unit by reading The Rainbow Fish, Rainbow Fish and the Big Blue Whale, and Rainbow Fish to the Rescue, all written by Marcus Pfister. The children then created their own version of the rainbow fish by gluing on different colored scales, glitter glue, and googly eyes to their fish. Please stop by and look at our rainbow fish, which are hanging in the classroom on a fishing net.
The children also created a whale watch scene by cutting and fingerpainting black and grey whales. We also added a sun and clouds to our "Whale Watch" bulletin board.
The last and final fish the children made were fluorescent fish. They created them by cutting out different fish shapes out of bright colored paper and decorated them with sequins, scales, and glitter glue. What a spectacular looking display!
The children were very busy this week practicing with Michelle and Yina for our final school concert. They did such an incredible job while practicing. I can't wait to see the concert.
We look forward to the beach party next Tuesday. We have so many fun activities planned for the day. If anyone would like to contribute food to the party and have not signed up, please let me know. Also, please send your child to school with a towel, water shoes, and a bathing suit. We will be playing with sand and water.
